Downhomegirl, thank you for the advice. Because the fare season ends soon most of the tickets did have to be paid by the 31st...um, no. However, I didn find a fare that doesn't require payment until the end of July, and is also a price I am quite happy with and an airline I would like to fly.

Win, win, win, really.

I am not fussed about the bus, what is two months in the scheme of things??

Oh, forgot to say... I think most airlines you have until 28 days before you fly to pay the balance.

You'll have to pay a deposit on your ticket, which for STA I think is a flat $250, regardless of the price of your ticket. BUT, and this could be important, the time you have to pay the balance will vary between airlines. If you get a good price, there's a good chance you'll have to pay the balance soon- my Royal Brunei flight had to be paid within 6 days. So you may save a little by booking now, but you also might not. You're going at a time when the high season is finishing, so you might do okay if you have to put it off- just make sure you check as the travel agent is booking the flight when you have to pay the balance, mine only told me towards the end of the process... by then it was reversable, but it would have been annoying.

Anyway. You'll be fine. The Bush is not that bad, I've lived there.
